On November 8, 2023, for the first time in decades, IDF soldiers prayed in the synagogue <sup>(2)<\/sup>, dating back to the 6th century, near the port of Gaza. A few days later, they converted a building in northern Gaza into a synagogue. This synagogue, named <strong>Heikhal Avraham (\u05d4\u05d9\u05db\u05dc \u05d0\u05d1\u05e8\u05d4\u05dd \u2013 Temple of Abraham)<\/strong>, displays at the entrance a board, updated daily, indicating the prayer times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-small-font-size\"><em><sup>(1)<\/sup> Notably Hamas (<\/em><strong>\u05d7\u05de\u05d0\u05e1<\/strong><em>), a Palestinian terrorist organization founded in 1987, which aims to destroy the State of Israel. It is responsible for numerous attacks against civilians and Israeli soldiers.
