It was copied in 895 by <strong>Moses ben Asher<\/strong><sup>[1]<\/sup>, a central figure in the Masoretic tradition<sup>[2]<\/sup> of Tiberias.<br>This manuscript is written on parchment, with meticulous calligraphy and Masoretic annotations. He is recognized as the author of the Codex Cairensis and father of Aharon ben Moshe ben Asher, who would later establish the Aleppo Codex.<\/em><br><em><sup>[2]<\/sup> The <strong>Masoretes <\/strong>(\u05d1\u05e2\u05dc\u05d9 \u05d4\u05de\u05e1\u05d5\u05e8\u05d4, ba\u2019alei hamassora) are the guardians of the textual tradition of the Hebrew Bible. Between the 6th and 10th centuries, they established the vocalization, accentuation, and punctuation of the biblical text.
